Getting started
Do I need an account?
No. Aurelex has no accounts or sign-in. Everything is saved on your iPhone.
Is everyone's word the same?
Not necessarily. Your words start on the day you join Aurelex: day one brings the first word, day two the next, and so on. Two people who joined on different days will be on different words.
Is there a paid version?
No. Aurelex is free, with no in-app purchases, subscriptions or ads.
Reminders
How do I change my reminder time?
Open Profile → Settings and pick a new time for your daily word reminder.
Why didn't I get a reminder?
Check that notifications are allowed in iOS Settings → Notifications → Aurelex, and that a Focus mode or Do Not Disturb isn't hiding them. Aurelex schedules your reminders for the next 30 days each time you open the app, so if you haven't opened it in a while, open it once to schedule them again.
How do I turn reminders off?
Turn them off in Profile → Settings, or in iOS Settings → Notifications → Aurelex.
Words & sound
How do I hear the pronunciation?
Tap Hear it on the day's word. Your iPhone's built-in voice reads the word and its example sentence. It works offline.
I tapped Hear it but there's no sound.
Check that your iPhone's silent switch (or Action button silent mode) is off and turn the volume up. If you're using headphones or a speaker, make sure it's connected.
Can I see a word I missed?
No. Each word is only available on its day, which is what makes it worth showing up for. Words you Save stay in your Word bank for good, so save the ones you love before the day ends.
How do I delete a saved word?
Open your Word bank and tap the trash icon next to the word.
Your data
Will my words transfer to a new iPhone?
Yes, if you move to your new iPhone using an iCloud backup (or a computer backup) and restore it. Aurelex doesn't have accounts, so there's no account sync yet.
How do I erase my data?
Open Profile, scroll to the bottom and tap Erase all data. See Erase your data below.
Erase your data
Open Profile, scroll to the bottom and tap Erase all data. This permanently removes your name, goals, saved words, streak history, medals and reminder settings from your iPhone. It can't be undone. Deleting the app also deletes all of its data. We don't hold any of your data on our side, so there's nothing for us to delete. See the privacy policy for details.
