This privacy policy applies only to the Aurelex iPhone app. For our website, see the website privacy policy.
The short version. Aurelex doesn't collect any data. There are no accounts, no servers, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Everything you enter stays on your iPhone, and we never receive it. Delete the app, or tap Erase all data in Profile, and it's gone.
Who we are
Aurelex is made by Snowbelt Labs ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the Aurelex app stores, where, who can see it, how long it's kept, and how you can delete it. Questions? Email privacy@snowbeltlabs.com.
What we collect
Nothing. Snowbelt Labs doesn't collect, receive or store any personal information from Aurelex. The app has no sign-in and doesn't send your information to us or to anyone else. On the App Store, its privacy label is Data Not Collected.
What the app keeps on your iPhone
To work, Aurelex saves a few things in its own local storage on your iPhone. They never leave your device through Aurelex.

What we don't collect
- No accounts, email addresses or passwords.
- No advertising identifiers, ads, analytics tools, tracking or third-party SDKs that collect data. We don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- No location, contacts, camera, photos, microphone or audio recording.
- No payment information. Aurelex is free, with no in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Permissions
Aurelex only asks for one permission: notifications, and only if you want reminders. It doesn't ask for the camera, photos, location, contacts or microphone.
Hear it (pronunciation)
When you tap Hear it, the word and its example sentence are spoken by your iPhone's built-in text-to-speech. This happens on your device, with no network connection, and nothing is sent to us.
Notifications
If you turn them on, Aurelex schedules local notifications on your iPhone: a daily word reminder at the time you pick, and an evening heads-up if your streak is about to end. We don't run a push notification server, and nothing about your reminders is sent to us. They're never used for advertising. You can turn them off in Aurelex under Profile → Settings, or in iOS Settings → Notifications → Aurelex. The app works without them.
Where data is stored
- Everything listed above is stored only on your iPhone, in Aurelex's local storage. We have no servers or databases holding your information.
- If you have iCloud Backup or computer backups turned on, your iPhone's backup includes Aurelex's data. Those backups are run by Apple under Apple's privacy policy, not by us, and we can't access them.
Who we share data with
No one. Because we don't receive your data, we have nothing to share, sell or rent, and we don't use it for advertising or to build profiles about you. Apple distributes the app through the App Store under its own privacy policy.
How long data is kept and how to delete it
- Your data stays on your iPhone until you delete it.
- Erase it in the app: open Profile, scroll to the bottom and tap Erase all data. This removes your name, goals, saved words, streak history, medals and reminder settings from your iPhone.
- Delete the app: deleting Aurelex from your iPhone also deletes all of its data.
- Copies in an existing iCloud or computer backup are managed by you through Apple and are replaced as new backups are made.
Your rights and choices
You can view and change everything Aurelex stores right in the app, and erase it at any time. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK, Canada or California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port your data. Since we don't hold any of your data, there is nothing for us to access or delete on our side, but if you have a question, email privacy@snowbeltlabs.com and we'll respond within 30 days.
Children
Aurelex is suitable for all ages and is not directed to children under 13. It doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Aurelex handles data, we'll update this page and its date before the change takes effect. We'll ask for your permission before collecting anything new.
